Computer Science Student
I'm Benjamin Davis, a third-year Computer Science student at Western University, working toward IT support and systems roles. This site is part portfolio, part project journal: working software, solar hardware, 3D prints, games, and whatever else I'm currently curious about.
The short version.
I'm drawn to the practical side of computer science: troubleshooting problems, setting up systems, and turning messy information into something organized and usable. Most of my projects start with a real problem. My family's business needed to keep its event inventory organized, so I built an app to run it. Our solar panel idea needed control software, so I built that too.
I'm aiming for IT support, troubleshooting, and systems-related work. Alongside school, I'm working through the CompTIA A+ and Google IT Support certifications, and using projects like my home server plans to get more hands-on with storage, networking, and infrastructure.

Half of this site is hobbies: 3D printing, game development, Blender, drawing, and photography.
Around 50 hours of model repair and weeks of printing to bring GLaDOS from Portal 2 into the real world.

Worked in a fast-paced retail environment helping customers, supporting multiple departments, answering questions, organizing inventory, and handling tasks independently. The role built a lot of practical experience around reliability, problem-solving, communication, and keeping things organized.
2018 - 2021
Managed customer-facing work, handled multiple jobs efficiently, and learned how to work consistently, communicate clearly, and maintain quality standards.

Comfortable using Git from the command line for pull, add, commit, and push workflows.
